The Bots are Starting Their Own Vegetable Garden

Join the Bots and create your own vegetable garden.  Got to LAUSDnet Kids and select the “Homegrown Goodness” sticker on the “kids” homepage.  See how you can help RAU and DELTA with their garden.  The First Lady, her children and a local elementary school are starting a garden on the White House Grounds.  Get your garden started for EARTH DAY.  Do something for the Earth and for yourself.  Eat 5 fresh fruits or vegetables a day.

LAUSD Students: Show Us Your 5-Star Chef Skills!

Cafe LA and The Network for a Healthy California-LAUSD are having a recipe contest for National Nutrition Month. LAUSD students were invited to submit recipes for judging. The three winning recipes and students will be invited to compete in the District’s first ever 5 Star Chef Cooking Challenge. They will each prepare their signature dish to be judged by a five-star panel. The challenge will be broadcast on LAUSD’s Channel 58 KLCS and also featured on the LAUSD and Cafe LA websites. The deadline to submit recipes was March 20, 2009. Click here for details.
