The United States Supreme Court

The Supreme Court of the United States (SCOTUS) was established by the United States Consitution.(Article III) Its most important responsiblity is to decide cases based on Constitutional interpretation. The Supreme Court can over rule both Federal and State Laws. if they conflict with their interpretation of the Constitution.
Learn more about the Supreme Court at these websites::

    • Did you know that William Taft was the only president who also served on the Supreme Court?
    • Taft also was the only one-term president to appoint the most Supreme Court Justices.
    • The tradition of the “conference handshake” began with Chief justice Melville W. Fuller in the late 1800s. Before they take their seats at the bench, each justice shakes hands with the others. Chief justice Fuller cited the practice as a way to remind justices that, although they may have differences of opinion, they share a common purpose.
    • The Court cannot attempt to correct a problem on its own initiative, or to answer a hypothetical legal question.

The Bots are FLU SMART

The Bots are “Flu Smart.” Delta and Rau always remember to wash their hands with soap and water. They cover their mouths when they sneeze or cough with a tissue and then put the tissue in the trash. Click here for a coloring sheet to see what other things they do and so you can be like the Bots and be “Flu Smart.”
